Boards, Committees and Fellowship Groups include:

Church Council

The Council is composed of a representative from each Board and organization, along with the church officers and Pastor, and any other members of the congregation who wish to attend. They meet on the second Thursday evening of each month to conduct church business, including scheduling events, reviewing the financial status and planning for the future. The Moderator, elected by the congregation, presides over the meetings.

Diaconate members assist in worship leadership each Sunday as ushers. Communion is prepared and served the first Sunday of each month.

Christian Education

This Board administers Church School curriculum and coordinates the Church School teachers’ schedule. They meet as needed on the second Thursday evening of the month.

Mission Committee

The Mission Committee strives to provide opportunities for our church to reach out to our larger local, national, and global community. In addition, we seek to educate the congregation about social issues. We continue to be amazed and grateful for the generosity of the members of our faith community in supporting these projects. Our projects always receive a positive response from the congregation.

The trustees have the important task of coordinating the maintenance of an older building and grounds. They arrange for grass cutting, snow plowing, painting, repairs, cleaning and security. Their duties also include negotiating agreements with groups, organizations and individuals who wish to use the church facility on either an on-going or one-time basis.

Women’s Fellowship

Two circles make up the Women’s Fellowship. Hannah Circle meets the second Friday of the month in the afternoon. Tabitha Circle meets the fourth Monday of the month in the evening. Together the circles coordinate the Christmas cookie sale, a Christmas boutique, the Spring and Fall rummage/bake sales, the Fall raffle and assist with special dinners and events at the church, as needed.

Men’s Group

They meet on the first Saturday morning of most months for breakfast and fellowship at a local Hartland restaurant. The group assists with special projects, such as decorating the church for Christmas, and coordinates and staffs First Congregational Church’s day at the Piggly Wiggly brat shack in Summer.

Music – Choir and Instrumentalists

    new choir

Our Chancel (adult) Choir fills the Sanctuary with their voices twice each month during Sunday worship and for special services. Under the direction of Choir Director, Beth DesRosiers, Choir members enjoy singing traditional, contemporary and Gospel music, which compliments the theme of worship services.

Talented musicians from the congregation and guests, playing their flute, clarinet or guitar, occasionally accompany the choir or play instrumental selections for worship services

Garden Committee

This group helps care for the colorful perennials in the garden just north of the church building. They also plant annuals in the garden in Spring.
