Pastor Reverend Peter St. Martin accepted the call to minister to both the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Hartland and the First Congregational Church of Genesee United Church of Christ. Pastor St. Martin most recently served as Senior Pastor at the Second Congregational UCC Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan following retirement with the rank of Commander as a Military Chaplain in the U.S. Navy for 21 years. His deployments around the world, included a 3 year tour of duty aboard a ship and 14 months providing ministry and worship in a combat environment. While in the Navy, he helped a very diverse military population and their families, living and working in very stressful conditions, grow spiritually. Serving as a chaplain afforded him the honor of being a listening ear for many who imparted their deepest yearnings and concerns. He feels this enriched understanding of the ways people cope with troublesome times has proven to be a rich benefit in the realm of parish ministry.

Reverend St. Martin has been vitally concerned with outreach to the local communities where he has served. As empty nesters, Peter and his wife, Judy, look forward to returning to small town living and recently purchased a new home in Wales near Kettle Moraine High School. Pastor St. Martin has a warm personality and delightful sense of humor, making him approachable on any issue, whether simple or controversial. He has boundless energy, is a runner looking forward to our trails, and enjoys playing tennis. Judy enjoys quilting and is well known by Military Chaplains for donating her time sewing camouflage stoles.
