Children's Programming

Church school is held throughout the school year and periodically throughout the summer by a team of professional teachers. A faith based curriculum is used that includes Bible readings and related activities that children can share with other family members to extend their discussions and learning.

Children begin each service in the Sanctuary with their families. Following the first reading, the children are called forward for a Children’s Message delivered either by the minister or a congregation member. Children are then dismissed with their teacher(s) to the classrooms.

The classrooms at UCC Hartland are a real asset and teachers abide by the Open Door policy for safety. We have space for lessons, activities and active play to support the lessons. Children learn God’s message in age appropriate readings and activities and children are always accommodated for any special needs. Their enthusiasm for God’s word always warms us all. Children rejoin their families at the social hour that follows each service.

A special children’s program is scheduled during the Christmas season to engage the children in the wonder of the Christmas Story.
