Mission

The Mission Committee strives to provide opportunities for the church to reach out to our larger local, national, and global community. In addition, it seeks to educate the congregation about social issues.

Local Outreach

Members of our congregation were active in establishing the Hartland Food Pantry over 25 years ago. The congregation continues to generously donate food and multiple hours of service to this organization. The food pantry serves about 200 families a month from the Lake Country area. It is located at 555 S. Industrial Drive in Hartland and is open on Wednesdays from 1:30 to 3 pm and Saturdays from 10:00 to 11:00 am. 262-367-6373.

Our members actively participate in two local mission meals. We serve twice a year at Hope Center in Waukesha and we coordinate, donate and prepare food.

The Church participates in a variety of Mission projects throughout the year, including adopting a family at Christmas, collecting socks and underwear for the Hope Center, and other projects as needs arise.

Members of our congregation are also active in the Lake Country Cares cab program and in Volunteers of Lake Country.

Global Outreach

Several members of our church have travelled semi-annually to Honduras to build homes.

The United Church of Christ has a variety of annual collections. We participate regularly in One Great Hour of Sharing, an interdenominational offering that funds disaster relief and economic recovery programs in the U.S. and internationally.

Educational Programs

Our church members embrace educational programs and forums promoting environmental awareness, social justice, and mission initiatives which have included Lenten Carbonfast, Family Promise and Sophia.
