Typical Worship Service

Our beautiful sanctuary is steeped in history and tradition. The simple altar and cross and the beautiful stained glass windows create a sense of peace and the powerful presence of God.

God’s spirit and love is evident in our small and friendly congregation. We are truly a church family.

The worship service begins with music shared by one of several talented musicians playing our piano or pipe organ followed by an informal hymn sing in which one or two favorite hymns are chosen by those present.

The formal portion of the worship service combines meditation, scripture readings, a children’s message and sermon by our Pastor, and more music and hymn singing. We serve communion on the first Sunday of each month, and all members of the body of Christ are welcome to share communion with us regardless of church affiliation.

Children begin the service with their families, but leave for Sunday school midway through the service. We also have a nursery available for infants and children too young for Sunday school.

Less traditional services, such as Holy Humor Sunday or summer services in the garden remind us that God calls us to worship as a church family in a variety of ways and with all our senses engaged, including our sense of humor.
